Okay, so I didn't do too badly today, except for dinner tonight. I made some tilapia and mac and cheese for Owen to eat (which he LOVED!!) and I couldn't help myself.. Yes, I'm trying to break myself of this habit, but the mac and cheese just called me to eat it. BUT I didn't do as bad as I could have.. 1 cup. Even with it, my calorie intake wasn't that bad today either.

Tomorrow's another day. I will overcome all this crap!

Oh, and there's something to be said about dancing around and making a fool of yourself in front of your son... lol, I did this HARD for 30 minutes and worked up a really awesome sweat while entertaining my son, and getting him to dance with me to some Hip-hop.. Gotta love that genre for getting you to want to dance.

And I wasn't even going to workout today. :)

Proud of you for sticking pretty close to things today. Macaroni and cheese is a hard habit to break. Maybe it would help you to start thinking in terms of what's good for you is also good for your son. If you can substitute SB approved items for things that he loves, then you'll be able to share with him guilt free. I realize that may be hard, but you have an opportunity to teach him healthy food habits as you get healthy yourself!

I agree with Simille. It's a good time to break the cycle. Trust me, I wish I had done it differently with my boys.

I was thinking that.. He LOVES the cauliflower mashed "potatoes" and likes a cauliflower cheese bake.. so I so totally understand what you're talking about. It should be an adventure.

I don't think people give kids enough credit as far as food choices are concerned--yes, it may take a little fighting at the dinner table to get kids who are old enough to have already developed bad food habits to break them, but if you get 'em young enough (and put cheese or ranch dressing on it!) eventually they'll come around. Of course, I don't have kids, so I may just be talking out of the side of my head, but I've been around kids who have great palates and kids with not so great palates, and most of it is the doing of the parents. One of the reasons I am changing my lifestyle, and my way of eating now, is so that when I do have kids I will be a sane eater, and can help them to be as well. Good luck to you--you're in a great position to be an advocate for future healthy eaters!
