So I walked all the way home from work last night. 7.4km. Should have taken me about 1hr 37mins, but I had to stop about half way to buy appropriate shoes as the ones I wore to work started burning the balls of my feet. So it took me 2.5hrs instead (also stopped to say hi to a friend who owns a restaurant along the way)
Turns out I have a HUGE blister now under the ball of my left foot, so bad that the water blister is really REALLY deep. That's gonna hurt like a MOTHER to heal (heel? haha)
All in all though, if it wasn't for the inproper footwear, I could've just kept on speed walking. It felt pretty good and if I can keep doing it, it could make a huge difference to my exercise regime.
