I have been on the diet for approximately 4 weeks and hjave lost 6 pounds since last weigh in. I love the South Beach Diet. It givs me a lot of flexbility. Since carbs are definitely my weakness I try to stay with the phase one diet as much as possible, substituing Phase 2 carbs only a few times a week. This also helps keep tjhe cravings down which tend to increase the more "bad" carbs I consume. Right now I am eating a huge bowl of fresh yellow beans ,steamed,topped with a little benecol margarine and salt and fresh ground pepper. If find using a lot of herbs and spices helps with the satiety of this diet and prevents it from getting boring. Mybe it is my imagination but I feel as though I can taste things like vegetables more intensely before. I appreciate what I am eating more rather than just stuffing things into my mouth to satiate the cravings. The big test will be when I go back to work in a few weeks but I am taking it one step at a time. Oh- and inspired by the Olympics I am exercising a lot more and longer!
