My name is Shawnna, I am a new diabetic and have recently been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. I have committed to eating healthy and avoiding insulin at all costs. I also have a ton of weight to lose.
I am not even near naive enough to assume that this is a diet, but more of a lifestyle change. I cannot even begin to imagine what this is going to be like. I know that I hate change more than a nun hates gum chewing in class, and this journey (if that is what you can call this forced submission into healthy eating) is going to be frought with the temptation of cherry cheesecake and deep fried fish. I only hope I can make this happen.

I start my new diet tomorrow and am hoping to lose at least 1 pd per week. My commitment level is high, and I can't wait to start this new challenge. Bring it on world. :-)
