brandi16's Journal, 10 October 2007

Again, finally reached a new low weight. I thought I went up, not down, so it was a nice surprise. I'm starting to get frustrated with myself because I keep playing the yo-yo game with myself. (not fun)

I over heard a co-worker talking about her weight loss and that she's been using some kind of pills to loose weight. She has lost quite a bit of weight, but when she said that, I felt so good about myself. Because I'm doing this the healthy way, not that pills are bad, but I know doing LA is so much healthier.

So I hope this can give you ladies some encouragement today to show that we are doing this the right way and making a long life change for the good, and we are not depending on a man-made pill.

Keep it up girls!!

Brandi, you are doing great on your very own, and I know what you mean about the yo-yo, but we are able to pick ourselves back up and start over. I have used so many diet pills and it never stays off, you normally always gain it back. Just keep up the great work.

You are so right Brandi. Healthy may be slower, but it is healthy. You are learning how to eat to lose weight, then learning how to eat to keep it off. You're doing great!

A pill is just more "magic" that we wish for to make it quicker or easier but you are right on target with your thinking! This way is satisfying and strengthing which will serve you well in other areas of your life once you hit your goal with this. You are doing great!!

I just read a very scary account of a person dying from diet pill use on another web site. I am glad I read it, because, while on this plateau, I was considering using them for a fleeting moment. I have not found any substantial evidence that they are safe and they do not help you establish healthy eating habits. Let's face it there is just no easy way to lose weight. I am reading lots of stories about people who are succeeding at this battle long term and living healthy lives. Also looking at the spiritual & emotional aspects of this. Learning slowly but surely.....also if you keep at this - eventually you will get there. As for me, my happiness has never really been tied to my weight....I am doing this mostly to be healthier because now in my forties some of the health consequences of being overweight have set in. I want to do what I can to live a long God-pleasing life.....

Brandi, Your so right about the drug free way to lose weight. I now have a heart valve problem from using weight loss pills back in the 70's. Keep up the good work and you will have the satisfaction of saying "I did it my way" Good Luck The Hulk
