I weighed in today.. even though isn't my weigh in day. I just HAD to see if I had a loss, and I sure as hell did. An almost 4 pound loss since Thursday. I am looking forward to being done with phase 1.. but, I LOVE the weight loss with this.. I found yesterday that I wrote down my heaviest, and it was *GASP* 296... which was in February of this year.. So since that time, I've lost 15 pounds.. But since starting this wonderful diet, I've lost almost 14 pounds, and still counting.

And listening to my dad's conversation to his sister about her issues with stints being put in her heart after having chest pains really pushed it hard into my brain about losing it. I don't want to even go through a heart attack (like my father did at 41..and he was HEALTHY.. thanks to being in the military.. and he's brought all his numbers down... lost like 40 pounds after and all this wonderful stuff) or die of my heart stopping (like my mother's mom did..). The odds are stacked against me, and gave me more fuel for my fire to be motivated to stay along the course of this diet for the rest of my life. It scared me out of my wits, and I know I have to do this.

Yay for the loss!! Can't wait until Thursday.. to see if I lose anymore.

Back to homework. Only 2 more weeks.

That's wonderful news! I'm on this diet for the same reasons as you. My dad died at 42 from a heart attack and my mom was diagnosed with heart disease last year. My labs were not so good and I knew I was headed in the wrong direction. Labs are great now and I feel so much better. Congrats on doing a great job and for making such a smart decision to turn things around.
