I had great success a few years ago simply counting calories, doing all my own food prep (food never tastes better than when you prepare it yourself) and walking, walking, more walking and walking. Though I hope to resume the walking, at this particular point I'm not up to the concentration required for all the food prep I had been doing. With a large degree of blind faith, I'll hand over control of my stomach to Medifast for two months and see where I end up. Memo to me: "Let's just do it."
