I'm eating a moderate amount of carbs and eating around 2000 calories a day for now. Started doing that four days ago. Hopefully, I will lose enough that way to give me the energy and ease my back enough that I can do housework and am able to get my kitchen in order so I can use the stove. Right now all I can use is the microwave so it's pretty limiting.

I've put 500 for my starting weight but really I don't know what I weigh. The last time I weighed, I was around 480 but that was 9 months to a year ago. Before that, I was over 500 (the scale only weighed to 500) but I had lost twenty to twenty five pounds. I know I am not more than 500 because the clothes I have still fit the same. I may be as low as 470 but I really have no idea. When you are this heavy, your weight can fluctuate up or down 10 or more pounds on any given day.

As I wrote up there, I started eating a moderate amount of carbs and eating around 2000 calories a day four days ago. I'm certain I am losing weight because that is at most just half the calories and 1/3 or less of the carbs I have been eating over the past few years.

In 2003, I was 400 pounds. In a year's time, restricting my carbs, I lost 100 pounds or more. Then I got pregnant and the nutritionist said I would harm my baby if I continued to low carb through my pregnancy. My head didn't believe that but the rest of me was so afraid of doing something wrong to him that I started eating carbs again. I am highly insulin resistant and have a lot of carb triggers so that was a bad decision on my part.

My son was born 2005 and I was back up to 370 or so. Things were incredibly stressful in my life and I lived with someone who loved carbs and I pretty much gave up for a long time, especially after my (now) ex and I split up in 2007. That is when I put on the next 100 pounds. I was deeply depressed and unable to take care of my house or even me in some instances.

I have a debilitating back problem with chronic pain. The extra weight makes it worse I'm sure. There is very little I can do physically right now. My kitchen is a mess and I have no pans and stuff now and I need to lose weight to be able to clean it up and start to be able to cook again. After I do that, I can start eating eggs for breakfast instead of the special k.

I really hope I get healthier and stay that way this time. I am getting too old to keep starting over again.

You can eat eggs now. Just add some to a coffee cup with some milk. Beat and add some ham/other protein and microwave. You have an instant high protein breakfast! You can do it. For some microwave breakfast ideas check out hungrygirl.com. She has some easy low cal meal ideas.

This is going to sound bad but I don't have a coffee cup lol I do have some disposable bowls though. I am mostly homebound but will put eggs on the list next time someone goes to the grocery for me.

I guess next time you go to the doctor try to work out a deal where you can come by once a week to weigh yourself with the doctor charging you for a visit. I know its hard but knowing that number is crucial to getting a handle on your weight loss goals. Good luck and we are all friends here so we'll do everything we can to support you so keep up the good work with your diet and I hope you see some really good results.

I meant to say let the doctor use his/her scale without charging you for a visit.
