Confused and curious. I'm going from blah to lots of water lots of exercise and my weight has gone up slightly and then today my scale shows my BMI has gone up. Is that water and muscle?

Those scales aren't super accurate when measuring fat because our bodies water fluctuates so much. Google why the scale lies" to get insight in to water weight fluctuations. Just eating too much sodium one day can affect the scale the next. Many factors will make the scale go up and down all day long.
