This morning I was late getting ready for work and didn't have time to make myself something for breakfast. I decided to stop by McDonalds for a sausage burrito. I didn't realize how many calories they were. No wonder why I have a weight problem. I would eat two of those on a normal morning. Wow what a wake up call

The sad thing is that the burrito is one of the lower cal options, I think. I remember looking thru the breakfast items on my BB app thinking the breakfast burritos would be lower in calories than what I used to get (sausage egg & cheese mcgriddles), & they are...but not by a whole lot. Quite sad. The fat content in the burritos is lower I think, but still pretty discouraging. It would be worth it to take the time to plan out a variety of healthy breakfast options that you like & have them on hand. Personally I've always been awful at preparing anything in the mornings - I hate even getting the coffeepot going but I can't live without that! - so for a long time I didn't eat breakfast at all. Nowadays I'll eat a Slimfast bar & that works for me, but if you're used to eating breakfast, you should probably try to plan ahead as much as possible. It'll help keep you away from places like McDonald's. Congrats on the awareness...isn't it interesting how much you notice now that you never paid attention to before? You are on your way!!

About a year ago I purchased one of the books from "Eat This Not That" and it suggested if going to McDonald's choose the Egg McMuffin, but not the one with sausage. I also found the Jimmy Dean D-lights are tasty, about 230 calories and lots of protein! Frozen breakfast aisle at most grocery markets. Good luck!

This is what is so cool about choosing to make a lifestyle change. All of a suddden you are making an effort to know what you are ating :) I remember when I started ww. Iwas amazed at how many calories i ate each day because I didn't think about it! Once you start to uncover this info, you make better choices. It is harder to go back once you know. You won't be able to order that burrito next time. You will just drive past because you won't want to waste calories!

I agree it is amazing tuning into and discovering your bodies needs and really feeding your body to thrive. I just snapped back into getting more in touch with my health and I don't regret it at all! I forgot how much better feeling healthy feels over feeling stuffed with junk. Of course, I am going to miss chocolate covered pretzels... everything in moderation ;)
