MorePlease's Journal, 19 January 2013

I started following Atkins on November 26, 2012. I immediately lost 5 lbs and have been struggling to get to the 10 lb mark ever since. I follow the plan very well, but I believe I definitely have a resistant metabolism. I like the diet because once I got past the first few days and ketosis killed my sweet cravings, it has been no problem to follow. I just wish I knew what I could do to increase my rate of loss. I have already cut back on diet coke having 1 can only twice a week and reduced my splenda in my coffee to only 3 packets...and only having coffee twice a week as well. I easily cut sweets out, but, I seriously do not believe I can give up my soda and coffee completely.

I'm sticking to it strictly for 2 more weeks where I will take measurements again, but if the scale doesn't budge and the measurements don't decrease I am going to have to re-evaluate my plan.

Problem is, I don't know what to do next. I have tried WW and I felt like I was ALWAYS hungry.

You might want to check out the Atkins website. There are lots of people that "got stuck" with losing the lbs and more veterans with plenty of helpful advise on how to get over the plateau

I began using the atkins site when I started this diet and I continue to frequent it as it has all my information(beginning weight and measurements). But, I haven't really found it to be all that useful when it comes to why I'm losing at such a slow rate (avg. ~.2 lbs/wk). It also wasn't very user friendly, at least the food tracker wasn't, in my opinion. So, I am hopeful that using this site and the food journal will help me identify my weakness.

See my journal entry from about 15 minutes ago. You and I appear to be in the same boat. I pulled out an old paperback copy of Atkins' "New Diet Revolution" and read the section today related to those of us who have been on induction for 30 days+ with stall (or no results at all). His book goes far beyond what you now find on the website.
