MissLissa's Journal, 14 May 2008

Okay, so ONE DAY I went up to 25 carbs, because I was getting a migrane, and for some reason a piece of chocolate helps me get rid of those far better than any pill. I believe that is as good a reason for cheating as you can get - save me from monstrous pain! (and only had ONE teeny piece of sugar-free Hershey's!).

So therefore, I am of the opinion that my scale hates me. And my waist. Maybe just my body in general?

I've been writing down what I eat each day in a journal (not here, easier to just pull it out while eating!) and I've been spot on with the diet, plenty of veggies, 19/20 carbs per day, so I just don't know why things aren't working anymore.

I would think that I need to jumpstart my diet again, but since I haven't actually LEFT Induction, I don't really know how to do that. Any suggestions?

Hi ! That happenes to me from time to time. What I do is eat less meat and more veggies for a day or two max. it ups your carbs, but healthy carbs. Then i go back to my strict 20 carbs again....and its enough to "trick" my body to start loosing weight again. It works for me...hopefully it can work for you. Good luck!

Have you heard of the Fat Flush Plan? That is how I jump started, and it really worked. You are restricting yourself like on Atkins, but you eat lean meats, veggies, flaxseed and flaxseed oil, and some fruits. But the book- it's awesome!

Hey, no worries, reasons could be multiple. My weight goes up and down like a yo-yo during a day, so I pick same time each day (morning before I eat anything, of course). Could be that you are not drinking enough water and your body retains all the water, hence your weight goes up a bit. You could also be in "that" time of the month when body naturally bloats and holds the water, too. Don't give up! Maybe a diet that you are on is not the best for your body? Search for diets where people have best long term results. You need all food groups in balance in your diet to stay healthy. From what I understand Atkins diet is mostly proteins and fat and lacks a lot of other nutrients. Check out this article about Atkins diet: http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz/Atoz/common/standard/transform.jsp?requestURI=/healthatoz/Atoz/hl/nutr/food/alert11202001.jsp

I really think you should research food sensitivities. I know because I was in denial about my wheat sensitivity for years. I craved it and it made me feel better in the moment, but when I gave it up for good I stopped even getting migraines. There is a lot of information out there about how food sensitivities tend to be foods we crave the most. There are a lot of common allergens, everyone is different. The Fat Flush Plan book is a good place to start. Thanks, Bobber! It is compatible with Atkins and I believe she goes into food allergies and cravings. Good luck!

I'll look at the Fat Flush Plan, thanks! Monikab, Atkins diet is not mostly proteins and fat - I eat about 3 times the salad/vegetables on Atkins that I would otherwise (essentially I replace all breads with greens - YUM!) I do weigh myself same time each day... also before I eat anything ;) But you have a point, I think "that time" IS coming tomorrow, so... (crosses fingers)
