In my research regarding sugar alcohols I found a web site www.caloriecontrol.org which is a website created for a council of major food manufacturers (think coca-cola co., hershey corp. etc. everybody is a member). I feel like I just found the holy grail of information explaining polyols (or sugar alcohols). The calculations are different than what I heretofore believed and armed with that information I now understand that on days where I have eaten polyols my net carb counts were inaccurately calculated. So. New day. New dawn. The light is on!
