Hollyruth's Journal, 05 January 2013

Hello,
Today is day 4 and I feel pretty good. Eating lower carb (and less in general) isn't as hard as I've made it out to be in the past. I have been very active in the last few days and hope that I continue to eat well over the weekend...it's those days that I have the most trouble. Hope everyone is doing well!

I found that cutting Calories is a lot easier than it seems, especially when you have work or things to take your mind off of food, food, food. The lower carb thing, just a warning, starts out easy, but most of us start craving carb-filled foods. Just remember, moderation! Just have a little bit of the carb you're craving, savor it, then follow with water to get the taste out of your mouth! Good luck over the weekend and overall, you can do it!!

Hollyruth, I totally agree. I remember when a few months ago I would look at people's lunches or dinners and think "that's not enough food to keep me going, are you crazy?" but when I started paying attention to what I was eating. Getting the right foods and what not, lower calories and smaller portion sizes weren't that bad at all. I am doing lower carb as well in the sense that I don't eat carbs after 4pm. Which means when I make spaghetti for the family I have sauce over broccoli instead of noodles, but I found I don't miss it much either. The advantage of my choice of 4pm cut off means that I can have leftovers from the night before for lunch if I really crave those carbs. Seems to be working too. 6 weeks and half way to my goal. Keep it up, and you're bound to succeed. I wish you success!!
