worm2butterfly2012's Journal, 17 December 2012

The holidays sure have made me busy which I think is a good thing. Keeps me away from the food. I went to my dietician last week and she is happy with my progress. She says that my plateaus are normal and I should relax and weigh myself less if I get too frustrated with them. I went to my support group meeting tonight and feel that most of my questions have been answered. I'm not hearing that much new material anymore. I'm feeling satisfied with my progress even though I wish things would move faster, but I guess we always want things to go faster, don't we? I've lost a total of 42 pounds and have about 13 more to go to meet my own goal before surgery. Hopefully, I lose the remaining 13 pounds. It sure would feel nice to be below the 300# mark. 13 pounds seems doable to me versus my longer term goal. I like those short term goals. Success feels so good. I have an appointment with the physical therapist this Thursday morning to see if they can give me some exercises to do to help with my hip bursitis. The pain is pretty much gone, but I'm afraid to do anything because I fear the pain coming back. I'm looking forward to seeing the physical therapist to help with the healing process.

42 lbs is quits an accomplishmend. Sure, we all want it to go faster, it's in our nature to be impatient, I think. But you're doing good. Keep it up.

Slow is good as the loss is more likely to be permanent. I'm glad you are seeing a pyhsiotherapist before starting exercising again.
