Eringiffin's Journal, 09 November 2012

I lost over a lb. again yesterday. I think I am finally releasing some of that water weight that's been stubbornly sticking around.

Typically, when I think I have dropped out of ketosis, I will do a 48 hour stint of all protein to get back into it. I just didn't have the heart to do it this time. Instead, I limited my carbs by as much as I had the will to do so, and tried to make sure it was all from veggies, NOT "cheat foods". It seems that it is working because the last 3 days I have lost a lb. a day. What a relief.

Speaking of relief, the other thing that may be a contributing factor to the recent weight loss is that my aunt gave me this herbal supplement to help with a blockage in my intestines. It worked right away but I have been going poo like 2-3 times a day ever since. I guess I was really backed up! I don't think I was getting enough fiber in my diet. I'm trying to get more salads into the schedule to fix that.

So today I am thankful to be cleansed from within, thankful that I lost weight without doing the 2 day protein thing, thankful that it is Friday (heck yes!), thankful for the rain we got yesterday, and thankful for water, power, and sewer services! My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the recent storms.

I bought a bottle of fiber gummies at Costco, and they really seem to do the trick. Plus, it's a little candy treat that is okay (they don't even taste that good, so it must be psychological). I could tell that you were ready to pick it up again, I'm so excited for you! Call me if you want an easy hike in the morning. And I mean easy, just a chance to get outside on a beautiful morning and move around a little.

How cool you two are friends. Walking and hiking with a buddy is the way to go. Make it a regular date and have to meet out somewhere. It makes you do it. LOL! I have found, (fiber-licious, too) eating leafy cooked greens, like spinach, kale or turnip greens help me with the "poo" thing. ALso eating a half sweet potato once or twice a week .... AND drinking a boat load of water every day. Glad you have been freed up. It takes a while for the body to get into the new WOE. ;)

Erin, that's great news :) You inspire me, keep up the awesome work. Wish you two lived near me! Although I am supposed to go for a 3 miles walk/hike today.. Hope it doesn't rain. Thanks for also reminding me of these cheat foods (atkins bars).. Of course I knew about them, but reading this really gives me a kick in the butt to tidy up my eating.
