Queso Grande's Journal, 22 April 2008

I haven't been keeping up with weigh ins because, for reasons that are beyond me, I've been holding steady at 296.5 since my last weigh in. I think it's time for more variance in my routine. I think my body has adjusted and gotten used to my current plan. I'm not too worried about it, but it sure would be nice to see that number drop. Oh well...maybe next week.

Follow whatever diet plan but remember, in the end it's calories in versus calories out. Keep up the good work Queso!

You can do it..you just have to want it enough. Its also good to see if you can find calorie equivalent foods. For example, 2.5 sodas cost you 270 calories. For the same amount of calories, you could have had one chicken breast, 1 cup of mashed potatoes and a cup of mixed veggies..and still had calories to spare. 4 oreo sandwiches that are 640 calories could also be 3 bowls of pasta in Alfredo sauce. My trick to fight off sugar cravings? I buy South Beach Diet Cereal Bars. They are only 140 calories and extremely filling. Funnily enough, though I crave sugar just a bite or two is usually enough to satisfy me. Replace all your favorite foods with low fat, low sugar versions. This way, you get to still eat what you want but it isnt as bad for you. Good luck and just keep trying. You can do it!

stick at it man... your body will adjust to the new regime and take a while to get used to it. You may find that the scales stall for a couple of weeks and then for no apparent reason you see a big drop! The point is not to get disillusioned by the figure on the scales. If you're feeling fitter, and your clothes are getting looser then you know you're on the right track. Hang in there!
