Do muscles really way more????? I've been doing the weight machines twice a week since January, and it seems like I can't break the 145 mark since despite eating mostly a Phase II SBD.

I think it depends on how much muscle you're REALLY gaining in comparison to losing fat. I used to tell myself when I was more active that if I had a gain it could be from exercising that week. But I kept gaining weight and I never really saw muscles. Now with the weight loss I started working out focusing on my muscle growth/fitness. Solely working on muscle growth I have still lost an additional 7 pounds more while building noticeably more muscles. Keep photos of your arms, legs and measure and you will know if you are really gaining that much in muscle to warrant a weight gain. Thats what I think anyway. How are your clothes fitting how do your muscles look?

My trainer tells me that muscle weighs as much as fat (a pound is a pound is a pound) but that since it takes up less room than fat, when one works out they add muscle which can account for a weight gain. He also tells me that a person's weight is only part of a total equation~ that if you really want to measure something, measure body fat percentage. That gives you a more realistic perspective on the changes you are making.... and gives you a better gauge on how healthy you are becoming! (I believe everything this man tells me because he was Mr Colorado 4 years in a row, is 39 and looks absolutely amazing!) Good luck and don't get discouraged! I WISH I weighed 145lbs! LOL.... someday~
