Baxie's Journal, 05 October 2012

I am having to force myself to walk every day, and missing a day here and there...not many, but still....what concerns me is the idea of losing the ground I've gained over the summer. I don't like the idea of having to start all over (exercise wise) next spring! And I don't understand why I've hit this wall, grrrr!!!

You're not alone. I've hit the same wall. Let's not do this to ourselves. I'm going to grab you tomorrow morning, and we WILL go for a walk, okay?

Hey - don't crap out, ladies! You both worked way too hard to meet you rgoals to let it slide now! Find an indoor activity to enjoy - DVDs, mall walkers, stair climbers, anything to burn the calories. Come on now, don"t make me come over there and "Butt-kick" you!

I know, HCB. I actually did some jumping jacks yesterday. Talk about a blast from the past! I'd forgotten how much they can raise your heart rate...and I felt energized afterward! Wow! Today I'm coming off a very long weekend at work...pretty much played out, but I'm definitely going to rehash some of those old high school PE workouts and see where it takes me :-) My other issue is I am eating too much of even the good stuff. It all started with that stupid "going away" party at work a couple of weeks ago...the "carb monster" as kingkeld calls it, is now following me around, and I'm really having a hard time beating her back! It's highly possible that that very thing is what's making me feel so sluggish and irritable. Hmmm....lightbulb moment, anyone?

Yup - certain types of carbs set me up for cravings, irritability and lethargy. Breads of any type, crackers, sweets, wheat products, rice, white potatoes, all will get me going - and not in a good way!

...and I'm especially disgusted because tomorrow I have a visit with my new doctor, and I wanted to be under 130 for the occasion :( Oh well, it is what it is, but I definitely think it's time for some "cold turkey" for me, again, lol.

Good morning Baxie. I just got back from my walk. You ARE going for your walk today, aren't you? You really don't want to find HCB and me at your front door! Love ya... and let's kick some major butt today!

Jenkie, yes, I am definitely going out to walk today. DH went out about an hour ago, but my tummy/gut is a little weird right now...didn't want to get an ugly urge too far from my bathroom :-( I thought about you this morning, though, while getting ready for my MD appointment...pictured you walking. Good for you, and no worries, I WILL walk today...and tomorrow! And I'm going to butt-kick the carb monster, too, dang it! On another note, my doc appointment went well; she was pleased to hear of my weight loss over the last year, and she drew labs. I'm especially anxious to hear about my cholesterol, HDL, and vitamin D levels as a measure of my healthier lifestyle over the past year!

I'm looking forward to hearing positive feedback from your doctor. Hope your tummy feels better.

Okie dokie! Walk--check. 50 jumping jacks--check (more of those later)...carb monster--on the run! Thanks for the encouragement and butt-kicks, ladies!
