Day 254- So just got word yesterday that my boss is leaving on Friday. I don't know how I feel about this? We are a small company so this is going to have huge impact on us. He has been in the job 20 months, I was his first hire after coming onboard. He is not from our industry and is going back to the software industry. He lacked a lot and could not focus on anything to save his life, but for some reason I am feeling really empty. I guess a lot of my fear is our department (sales) will not have voice back in corp until he is replaced. He lacked a lot, but he also understood what sales reps go through in a company that has never had a large sales force on the road. So we have not even been told who we report to yet..... but we have been told he won't be replaced until after the first of the year. To make it even more fun, I am traveling out to our corp next week to have a 2 day confrence with my biggest customer and to tour a few of our other customers out near our corp. This is going to be real interesting......... BTW, I do get to pick up my new car, they are getting me the new Ford C-Max, not sure how I feel about this, 6 months ago I had a loaded F150, I am now driving a 4-Runner and going down to a C-Max, it is tiny. But who can complain about a FREE car?
