Yesterday was a busy one. Took my mother-in-law out to run errands, and she wanted to buy lunch. We went to McDonalds, as I knew I could get a grilled chicken salad. I haven't been in one in over 2 years, so I quickly eyed the overhead menu and saw the Southwestern Chicken Salad and ordered it. Although I didn't eat the corn, carrots or most of the corn (had no idea it would have so many nixed items)I still just put the whole salad down in the food diary. After all, SB isn't so much about calories as about the foods. I have gotten into the habit of writing down what I eat, and like the control of it, so even if I don't write it perfectly, I will continue.
Bloody noses this morning from scrambled sinuses. I am so sick of my scabby nasal passages!! YUCK!!!!

Thanks for your funny comments on my journal this morning; you had me chuckling about giving away my left you-know-what! LOL! Good job picking out the non-South Beach starchy veggies out of the Micky D's salad. Hope your nose is on the mend soon and that you have a great day!

Oh gee, poor thing! Vyramist has worked WONDERS for me with zero side effects...being newer its a bit expensive though. McDonalds is a trickey one for me, been there twice in the last 5 months. I had a grilled chicken snack wrap and only ate the inside of it and the other time I went I just couldn't stomach putting anything on the menu into my body, I just got a diet Pepsi and sat and watched my hubby eat. Its so silly how many calories they can pack into a salad! I know they don't stress the calorie counting but I think it's important to watch. I guess it is to me because of my heart issues I also have to watch my cholesterol and fat and those foods I can't have tend to be the ones higher in calories anyway. Youre doing great! Keep up the good work!

You would be surprised how healthy the grilled ceasar salad is. I actually get it a lot. It has parmesan cheese on it which is allowed. Then I order the light balsamic vinagrette instead of the ceasar. Yum!!! My daughter and I end up sharing it. Today though I had another Southwest salad and only 1/2 the dressing. Except for the fattening cheese and high carb corn it's not that bad. There are so few carrots that I just ignore them. I love the black beans though!! Having young kids I have had to find healthy alternatives at places like that.
