day one. me and my boyfriend have made the decision that we can't keep living the way we are currently living. we both love food and tv and relaxing after very stressful, busy days. since we started dating, we've both gained about 20 lbs. i was underweight when we met but now im at a precarious 140 lbs! and now its summer and my thighs shocked me when i put on shorts for the first time this year...most significant for me is the fact that i've had to get rid of all of my cute clothes--which were really expensive--and buy all new ones that fit. i was about to donate another duffel bag when my boyfriend suggested we start changing our lifestyle. so here we go. first we went to get groceries for dinner and already disagreed about what kind of burger meat to get. i said we should get the 90/10% (more lean) and he was insisting on 80/20% "because it tastes better." thats when i realized this was going to be a lot harder than we thought. however, we agreed on the 90/10 but my concern is that maybe shouldn't be eating burgers anyway when im trying to lose weight! maybe in the long run its just fine. but he is almost 80 lbs bigger than me...should we be eating the same kinds of things? tonight i bought a pedometer and took the dog for 5534 steps (2.4 miles). it felt pretty good.
