FatSwatter's Journal, 27 August 2018

My doctor wants me to document my weight daily. She says it will keep me more in tune with how my day-to-day activities (water intake, food I eat, exercise) affect my body and believes it can help me lose weight better.

I admit, I was a little torn about it, but there's research showing several benefits such as:

-gaining weight won't slip by because you'll see it and be able to do something about it.

-weight daily can help a person not eat mindlessly (I'm so guilty of eating mindlessly!)

However, the major downside to weighing daily is if you aren't losing like you want, it could sever your mood. I can relate to that.

For me, I have a healthy regard for the scale and realize the scale doesn't tell me everything. It doesn't show the muscle I've gained or the inches I've lost.

I'm curious what you do and why?

I always log food and I always weigh. I know some gains are just water weight and I don't let it mess with my head. I also plan my meals so I can stay in my calories and macros.
