peeperjj's Journal, 17 August 2018

Ok I change my mind. Had a big lunch. Had a big dinner. Haven’t even started on my snacks for the evening so I took most out of my log. I’m still stuffed. I finished dinner 4 hours ago :/. This isn’t a good stuffed. This is a ‘I feel sick’ stuffed. As soon as I start feeling not so stuffed I drink water or coffee and I’m stuffed again. It’s like something in my stomach is soaking up that liquid and making me feel full again- which never happens as liquids never make me feel full just stop the growling for a few minutes. I have a feeling it’ll be easy to eat less tomorrow if I still feel this full in the morning. Started taking my vitamins again today, mostly at dinner and after so that may contribute.

Seems I have some bones loss so they want me to take them. Figure if I’m taking some I’ll take them all! Bone loss also gives me more incentive to work out more.

Nurse said to make sure I’m getting all the nutrition I need. Forgot to ask if it’s ok to drop back to 1200 since I’m now taking all the vitamins they want now. She did say 3x a week weight bearing exercises. Can be anything like walking, aerobics or lifting. She was so happy to hear my 2x a week schedule and said I was at the minimum they’d like for osteopenia. Looks like I’ll fit in another day every week no matter what! My home workouts probably aren’t enough to be considered a full workout. Will have to double it and add a walk. Orrrrr crank up the radio and dance. I danced a lot as a young adult. Wonder if that’s what kept the weight off too. Haven’t done much dancing in the last 5 years and I’ve went from 132 to 107(walking a ton, Whole Foods mostly) and then 107 to 160. On second thought, nerves could be part of the stomach upset but can’t be the fullness. Oh well. Have to get some sleep as I get up in less than 6 hours lol. Long day with making calls, taking a kid to practice, gym day, donating some baby stuff and laundry/cleaning. May just dance until I can’t stand anymore then take a nap lol.

Our stomachs are no longer adapt to tolerate that much food. I felt so stuffed on Saturday too, it was horrible.

Why did you see the nurse?

The nurse called me about my bone density scan and to explain about osteopenia.

Thanks. Sucks being 37 and already having osteopenia but it could be worse and it could be osteoporosis or cancer again. The nurse assured me if I kept up my activity that I could possibly stop it from progressing and maybe add some bone back :). My workouts took on a totally new meaning for me! More muscle=looking/feeling better BUT now it’s also more muscle=healthier bone mass :). More back exercises in my future. And hips. Spine (lower) numbers were the bad ones. I’ve been focusing on legs and arms and my femur scores are right on the line at normal. Just have to keep them from dropping and build up hip/lower back & spine :).
