I’m upset. I went to the doctor and she told me not to lose any more weight. I’m 5 feet tall and 117 on her scale. I would like to be 105-110. I come from a small family where the females weigh under 110. I feel so good on the keto diet. Brain fog gone and energy up. I was upset with her and ate lots of carby food for two days. I don’t even wanna weigh myself. I need support.

Maybe increase your carbs gradually until you find your level that's good for maintenance. You'll likely keep the benefits of keto. It's the crazy high carbs that'll wreck those.

you can maintain on keto, it is a lifestyle not just a diet. If you feel better on keto then keep doing what makes you feel well. Just slowly increase your calories to help reduce weight loss. You will do it at a slower level, if you exercise you will gain muscle and lose more fat if that is your objective. muscle weighs more than fat. bottom line you are doing this for your health.

Girl, I hear you. I’m 5’2” and I can always tell when I gain a couple of pounds. Plus people will ask how much I weigh and then laugh that I’m counting calories. 😒 (It’s mostly my coworkers who are all dieting) I know I’m not overweight, I just want to be less squishy and more toned. It’s muscle mass vs fat! Being short is a struggle sometimes, lol!

Maybe your doc has reasons for their suggestions. Maybe ask more questions or do some blood work if not done already. Age & hormones & things we don’t see can be factors... I am careful about comparing myself to family members. Even though we share some DNA, no 2 seashells are alike... it’s good u trust yourself & u know best but physicians (good ones) have their reasons... maybe get 2nd opinion? Props & support to you in all u do.

Ah man. Relatable! What's your BMI? And what's your ethnicity? (The healthy BMI range for East Asians is lower than for other races.) Try getting a second opinion. Sometimes, even doctors are susceptible to "fatlogic" (in this case, the normalization of overweightness so much that healthy patients look thin). Ultimately, ask your doctor why he said what he did… are you losing weight too fast? Are you malnourished?

I'm short too and I feel best at 115 lbs. My personal trainer says at ht 5'3" the good weight to be is at around 115 to 130 lbs. I judge what I feel with what my body is happy at, everyone is different and doctors goes by the book. we are all built different and don't all work the same . You have to listen to your body and learn how to take care of it. Learn and test different things that works the best for you..I hate following fad diets and following directions by the book. I make my own plans and variety in my diet and excercise so I know It will be my lifestyle for the rest of my life. We are lucky to have Doctors to help but, I sometimes wonder. I really like Holistic method but that's iffy too. You know more about yourself than anyone else. Listen to yourself and make sure you don't wreck yourself making poor decisions. Life is short , live healthy

Well she should be supportive! Unless you were getting dangerously underweight or malnourished, she should work WITH you! It is your body, and you have the final say on what you feed it.

Did your doctor tell you a valid reason for not wanting you to lose weight? If not, then losing a few more pounds won't make a huge difference in your health.

A nutrition man at the health store claims that the Keto diet helps reduce the risk of cancer and diabetes. I think also the diet that the Japanese goes by is good too..my opinion! I use Matcha green tea alot ..It helps with metabolism and health. Tumeric with black pepper is good for inflammation. research and learn

I had the same issue, but I’m 5’5” now I’m 140 and I can’t stand it. Do what makes you feel good. BMI scales are not as accurate as some doctors still believe.
