GlennM's Journal, 06 May 2010

I will start keeping a daily intake log of what I eat today. I won't not record it on here though. That way I am more likely to maintain/lose more weight. I hope to get more exercise in later in the day. I have a mountain bike so I can't go anywhere near as far as I could if I had a racing bike as it is so much heavier. The weather is breezy and warm today, a nice summer weather day...
Vocabulary word of the day: colloquialism -noun- an informal expression that is used more often in casual conversation than it is in formal speech or writing. e.g. Words spoken just in certain parts of the country are often colloquialisms.

Hi Glenn, I sent a post to your May 5th post. Found another word abattoir, meaning slaughterhouse. I am finding a lot of unknown words (to me) in a book by Dean Koontz. He tends to use words I don't know, but I like to look them up and see what they mean. Hope your headache is better today. :-)

Hey Glenn, I see you had an uptick yesterday, I had one today. Let's try to get on top of the situation promptly. I don't know if you have seen Livestrong.com's MyPlate for tracking your foods but it is very fast and has a very comprehensive data base. It lacks the integration with Fatsecret, but you don't seem to need that. Also, if the advertising on the site bothers you, you can switch to the classic version which is almost as good and advertising free. Have a good day!

Hi Next number - I was familiar with that word - one particular reason why is one of those slaughterhouses or abattoir, I think it can be spelled with an e too, was once on the property of the building where I live so this place isn't just haunted with the ghosts of numerous deceased residents but perhaps animals too! That would make a haunted story - wouldn't it? Info - thanks for the site I'll check it out as I think I may want to get down to 190 inevitably...

Logs are a tremendous help. I keep a separate notebook to log my food intake and I also make note of the exercise I did that day too. :)

I found that site difficult to navigate info - it wouldn't let me place in information or check for calories, everything seemed stuck. I decided to do what mbhpro is doing and put it in a notebook. I did eat over 2000 calories yesterday! Yikes! But I did walk about a mile. I can't eat that much or I will gain weight... Thanks for the tips you guys...
