wintersmith's Journal, 06 May 2010

Well, it has been a while since I last put in a journal entry. However, a great deal has happened so I have a good excuse.

First, I am once again injury free. Now the only pain I experience is the creaking joints of my impending dotage. It is a good feeling to wake up and not be horribly sore.

Second, I went to my brother's wedding this weekend. We drove, so it ended up being 14 hours round trip, plus we drove all over the San Francisco Bay area and that added another several hours. Between that and over eating I actually managed to put on 7 pounds, but most of that is water weight. I'm back down to 185 this morning.

Third, I have a new schedule. I think this one is doable since it has a lot of low impact days in it:

Monday: Gym at lunch, martial arts at night
Tuesday: Salsa dance lessons at night
Wednesday: Gym at lunch, run the dog in the evening (3 - 5 miles), kick boxing at night
Thursday: Run the dog in the evening(3 - 5 miles), kick boxing at night
Friday: Gym at lunch, kick boxing at night (optional if I missed Wed. or Fri.), Salsa dancing late night (also optional).
Saturday: Martial arts in the morning, walk the dog (2 miles)
Sunday: Rest (and walk the dog 2 miles)

It seems a little crowded up there, but truth to tell I feel pretty lazy on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Salsa lessons are far less intense of a workout than I expected. I'd liken it to power walking only with more breaks.

Diet Calendar Entry for 06 May 2010:
2422 kcal Fat: 67.31g | Prot: 195.90g | Carb: 293.87g.   Breakfast: GOLEAN Cereal. Lunch: White Meat Chicken Bowl. Dinner: Asparagus, Bacon, Salad, Oven Baked Fried Chicken. Snacks/Other: 31 Below Heath Crunch (small), Buffalo Jerky. more...

I should make a list like that. Some days I wonder what to do, others I'm simply on autopilot. I need a new routine like you said on my journal. Just thinking I'd add core everyday prob isn't enough! lol I now have one dog, so I'm going to def add more dog walks for his sake. I'm jealous of your list, with little ones at home I can't really dedicate much time other activities, adding dance and martial arts sounds like a great time! Someday... :)

Thanks Cindy. The actual time per day is relatively low. One hour for dance lessons, one hour for martial arts, one hour for kick boxing, etc. The gym I do at lunch when I'm at work for 40 minutes (though I could do it in the morning, I just don't like to get up that early). If you could convince your husband to watch the kids for an hour you might be able to pull it off. :)

Congrats to your brother and the wedding. It's a celebration so it is definitely a good reason for the seven pounds which I'm sure will come off right away. Take care and have a great weekend wintersmith!

It's funny you wrote that on my journal because I went to a conference on Friday and on my journal on Saturday I wrote about that. Take a look at it if you have time and thanks for the help.
