Intermittent fasting
217.0 lb Lost so far: 25.0 lb.    Still to go: 37.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

there are a few articles online you can view. basically you eat your last meal, no snacks the rest of the night and go 16 hours no food. you can have plain coffee and drink lots of water. eat during the 8 hour window, then repeat if you feel up to it. some do smaller no food time and some do longer no food time. Just make sure you have something healthy for yourself when you do eat.

It's the by far the easiest and most effective diet I've tried to date. I find it far easier to eat nothing than I do to eat just a little. And fasting is also the easiest way to put the body in a state of Ketosis (fat burning vs glucose/sugar burning) I try and stay in Ketosis when I do eat (high fat low/no carbs). My new paradigm is to do a 24-36hr fast 2-3 times per week and extended fast 7-14 days once every two months. So far I have done one 7 day and I have just started an attempt to 14 days. The hunger vanishes after 24hrs (and even sooner once you're adapted) and I have more energy and mental clarity than I had 15 years ago! @GuntherFat - This is EXACTLY how fasting is for me. Much easier to not eat than to 'control' what I eat ('control' hasn't worked for 30 years). The only thing I would add is that I must take an "electrolyte supplement" everyday. Otherwise I will get dehydrated no mater how much water I drink (the water will just 'go through me').
