About a month ago, I did a 72 hr water fast, and afterwards I started eating one meal a day. Sometimes lunch, and sometimes dinner, depending on family commitments. I like to eat with the family as much as possible. It seems to be working, but it is quite slow. Sometimes my weight actually increases for a few days, but is followed by a sudden "step down" by a whole kg or so. LCHF is helping because I'm never really hungry, and that's not something I've ever experienced before. I do eat a very decent sized meal when I eat, with a LOT of vegetables and a generous serve of meat of some sort. I also have coffee with a spoonful of cream each morning as a pick-me-up. I tried to stick to green tea only, but I take metformin for diabetes, and I felt so nauseous taking it without the cream. The cream makes all the difference. I am trying to stick to less than 20g of carbs per day, and not worrying too much about how much fat I eat. I just eat until I'm full. I eat about 100g of protein per day. I don't feel tired or sick. My mind is very clear and I feel more alert than usual. Seems to be going well so far. Not sure what I'll do next. One meal a day is probably not sustainable in the long term. I'm just cruising along and hope to continue the way I'm going.

try to up your fiber. up to 20 to 50g is great if you can get it. chia seeds are a blessing, fiber and protein, no carbs. mix in water.

Since I've been doing intermittent fasting. I notice I can go a whole day without eating sometimes with no sense of hunger. I did the egg fast and lost three pounds in four days. That was a lot of eggs, but it was actually delish. I did use picante sauce and some cheese for some of the recipes, but mostly ate them with a lot of butter. Yum!! It helped me break a slump about three months ago and I kept the weight off.

Thank you far sharing this valuable information! So happy this is working for you. I am trying to do all the same things. I just fast longer periods because I am not so good at sticking to the one meal a day.

My husband and I just did a 5-day fast and have started eating again. We're not doing OMAD, but I do find that I just don't have the desire to eat that much any more. The other cool thing is that I now know and understand that I do NOT have to listen to the "rumble" in my tum. Fasting is AMAZING!!! My husband ate on Saturday and Sunday and just started a 6-day fast last night after dinner. I'm going to do a medically supervised 21-day fast next. I think it will be cool to see the labs that come back at all phases of my fast.

Thanks for the comments and support, everyone. I was blown away! I don't know why the date on the blog is back in March.. I wrote it in mid July. I think it may have been that I was looking at previous weigh ins and then wrote the blog in the wrong place.
