jengetfit123's Journal, 25 May 2018

So i took about 2 weeks off from working out. I still did a few times (more than in last 10 years combined, haha) but i really took it easy.

I am anxious bc back in early March i set a target date of August 23 to shoot for as much progress as i could. Today is 90 days away. I know i have been working hard on this, but i... Idk.

I have been doing the cize workout, and i love it, but a few days ago i ordered t25, which is more strength training. (Anyone here do shaun t workouts?) It comes today. I am nervous haha! I really want to step up the exercise, but i don't want to be so tired and sore all the time! I think i just need to get out of my head.

We had a crazy storm last night. The power was out so i guess there were a lot of trees down. It is supposed to heat back up so i am going to get out with the dog early.

I have been reading up on what is the best and what I choose to believe is the summary of a study that confirms: 150 minutes of cardio per week, plus two strength-building sessions a week will assist in weight loss while maintaining or building muscle. Also, every study says that what you eat and how much is 80% of weight-loss, so focusing on food is going to help you with your target more than exercise of any kind. Good luck! Have a good walk with your dog!

I agree about those guidelines, abbadabba! Probably my age, but this go-round i am just as interested in getting fit as i am in losing weight. I know they pretty much go hand in hand, but i want to build muscle and stamina, rather than just lose weight. Obviously i am wanting to improve my overall health, but from a vanity standpoint i am also concerned about hanging skin. I never worried about it in the past, but i was in denial about how big i got.

Well i did not get out super early, and it is getting hot. Still the canine companion and i walked around the lake. I used to go faily, but when my beloved old dog passed in 16 i couldn't bear to go without her. Then i just got lazy, and fat. So my new dog is just learning how to behave in that setting. Let's just say it feels like a workout and she will be sleeping now for the rest of the afternoon. :)

@tomlong, i have rockin' body too, but i have only done them sporadically. Cize is a total blast, if she likes that sort of thing.
