Measures my waist, feel good, step on the scale and get a shock.

Since my last weight-in I've focused on muscle building. Stayed away from the scale to not get disturbed in this process.

Trying to get to terms with the new weight. Find comfort in that the clothes sit loose, my measurements are good, my muscles are stronger. Still a blow.
190.9 lb Lost so far: 92.8 lb.    Still to go: 19.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 1.1 lb a week

muscle weighs a lot more than fat.

Thanks Ajlafavre. Read and see this muscle/fat volume to weight relationship, but somehow it shocked me how it lookes like on the scale. Will give intermittent fasting a go to see how that affects things.

Actually muscle and fat weigh the same, the difference is 5lbs of body fat vs 5lbs of muscle, the muscle will appear smaller & fat will appear “larger” because the amount of body fat that equals 5lbs has more quantity vs the amount that equals 5lbs muscle. I put a picture on my profile a while back you can see the difference visually. Which is another reason our bodies store much more body fat vs muscle in the first place👍🏻 muscle is more compact in that sense you could say... ya know unless you’re a steroid freak lol

Agree - been going to the gym 2x/week and walking 2 hrs. on beach 2x/week since March. Under 2000 calories/day, less than 150 carbs (sometimes much less). Had to buy a new belt and everything is much tighter but weight only dropped from 192 to 189.

It will catch up. Losing inches is a the main win.

People don't see a scale number. Only you see that. people notice your smaller size, and be proud that you're getting leaner. :)

Make sure to drink enough water and eat enough protein to repair and build those muscles you are working. Drinking too little water can cause you to retain most of what you do drink.
