Just had an interesting call from my naturopath...We think my daughter might (MIGHT) be allergic to wheat. One of my best friends is allergic to wheat and has celiac spruce. So, I know a little bit about the life style changes involved with someone who is allergic to wheat. Oddly enough, I'm not horrified or freaking out. LOL I chalk it up to "well, just another lifestyle change we'll have to make at our house!". It'll be interesting to see how creative I can become! The doctor is going to have a lab slip done up for allergy testing this coming Thursday. Not sure how long it takes to get results, though. My biggest desire is to keep my daughter from breaking out with exzema type rashes. It definetly seems to be food related. If she is allergic to wheat, I guess I'll have to learn how to cook without wheat! I'll be on the search for MORE recipes!
Well, anyway, just had to share.
Drinkin' my water and enjoying a busy day at work. (Can't wait for Friday to get here!) My husband comes home Thursday night! It'll be nice to see him after 2 weeks of him being in California.

Gosh, I tell ya... did you see the Today show this am at all? They were talking about the DHA and one other ingredient DEA?? Anyways, they are linking them to infertilities and allergies in babies/kids!! No soaps/shampoos or lotions for the first month. But didn't say much else other than that. Well,... if she is, maybe it's something that she can sort out grow, too. I know that my kids can out grow some of theirs... hopefully. We'll be here to try to help!! **huggies** Check out amazon for gluetin free foods and ideas maybe?? :)

hmmm, when I was little I was allergic to soap and detergents and now I am finding out I have perhaps some wheat allergies. I wonder if there's some weird connection or just that some of us are more prone to such sensitivities? hang in there girl, I'm thinking of you!

Isn't the DHA and DEA found in baby foods/formulas? They promote it by saying it's for eye and brain development. Isn't that scarey! You raise your child by FDA standards, buying food that is enriched with crap that's supposed to help our babies grow healthy, only to find out it makes things worse. Makes me mad!

Interesting! I am not very familiar with the formulas, but they did not mention anything about the dha and dea in food... only the soap and shampoos and lotions. I'll see if I can find a link on the today site. I'm tellin ya,.. in a world that can give you a pigs heart or one out of a dead guy, you'd think we'd know what is "good" for us and what is not by now!!
