cerobit's Journal, 25 February 2017

I have reached this: ***I am now under my goal weight for the first time EVER. (In my adult life).
I was contemplating that I may have found "the secret formula for losing weight". Yep, just combine equal parts of a life-threatening brain tumor diagnosis, epileptic seizures, paralysis and resulting multi-year physical and occupational therapies, and let's see, financial ruin, personal and corporate bankruptcies, marital separations, and the multiple effects of serious therapies, brain radiations and life- long, life altering medications. Yep, I think that's about it, oh, except for the burning will to stay alive to help my 10-year-old son have a father that is present for his growth to adulthood. Yeah, I think that's good enough for now. There are other minor things?like seeking a true caring and loving life partner.,but in the grand scheme of things such folly is so so minor.

Wow! You have a remarkable story. I admire your perseverance and hard work and think you should write your memoirs. The title? "The Secret Formula For Losing Weight." Your narrative voice comes across as self-deprecating, dryly humorous, and inspiring. :-)

Wow! I am pretty sure I understand that "secret formula" too well - except for the 10 year old child part. I wish you all good things for the rest of your life - stay on the course and know that God has a plan for you. It may not be easy but if you remain faithfilled you will find that person who loves you.

Wow, Thanks, All! I just happened to check social after entering some late night sweets, and I re-read my post, thinking, "wow, pretty decent writing". And then I read y'alls comments, and now I feel all warm inside, like when you find a $10 bill in your jeans pocket...all soft and warm snuggly, so, that you rub it gently on your face. Yummy good! So inspired, that I'm hoping to tell my first story at a storytelling workshop next weekend. If not then, at another storytelling event. You probably surmised, that I have a little thang for storytellers and the process of developing and sharing stories. Been listening to "The Moth" and "Story Collider" podcasts. Fascinating. courtesy of my wife induced poverty these past couple of months. But hey, no tv means good work on self and cooking healthy meals. Can't afford much meat and I stop by the hippy-granola food market and cruise the dollar produce, like a shark sizing up its prey. So mostly plant-based diet lately, which has great benefits! I can be poor and healthy, pshawwww, no prob!

Good going on the weight loss . I'm impressed and jealous. Sorry about the brain tumor . I lucked out there . I didn't need radiation although they are checking it out every three months . Hopefully the MRJS will remain okay . Good luck on your journey .
