Keep going friend. You have to take the long view and be mentally stronger than the daily/weekly fluctuations. There have been a lot of things that have psyched me out in the past (water weight, occasional upset tummy, ill-fitting clothes). Those are all just mental obstacles. Imagine yourself on a track jumping over hurdles. Get past these daily mental setbacks, because that's all they are. You're wise, you know how to eat healthy. Keep consistent. That number on the scale is not going to tell you a damn thing that actually reflects how you FEEL.

Consider LCHF way of eating and you will see an amazing weigh change. Hook up with some of the members here for advice. Im seeing caloric too low, Carbs which turn to sugar in your body way to high. There are a lot of men and women who will guide you with their successes. Low calorie is not supplying your body with its nutritional needs. Please reach out to these warriors of LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) dont fear the fat its not all about the fat its about the metabolic that happens when you change it up. Good luck

I actually have hardly any carbs now. And f I do, they are things like spinach, sweet potatoes, broccoli and tomatoes. A few blueberries or strawberries. I've cut out sugar and bread. I'm lower than my calorie quota. So I'm pretty sure I'm doing LCHF.

I noticed that your carbs are pretty low, some people are able to have under 50 and do good. But your ratios are off. Protein is high, from what I understand from on here extra protein turns to glucose and doesn't allow our bodies to use our extra fat. Also, your fat is low. Maybe tweak your numbers a bit? I tried many times to just control calories and just didn't lose. I know it makes sense, cals in vs cals out but FOR ME couldn't do it. Made me miserable and tired. Now I watch cals but also avoid going over in carbs. Feel MUCH better attitude and energy wise! Good luck, the perfect plan for YOU is out there, just gotta find it!

That can indeed be frustrating. Your body could be recognizing the shortage of calories, and simply holding on to everything for dear life. If you're exercising more on top of that, then (depending on the amount of muscle you've built) that could be adding weight- and keeping the scales from moving. 'My suggestion would be trying an Atkins type program for a while and see what happens. When the bulk of your caloric intake comes from healthy fats- you don't get hungry as quickly, and your body has a very steady source of nutrients. For breakfast, I used to have a bullet proof coffee, eat a whole avocado, a couple eggs right outta the chicken coop - fried in butter, and some sauteed mushrooms, onions and a little tomatoe. (If I ate that around 8 or 9, I'd not be hungry until 1 or 2pm.) It was amazing. Tough for me to get back to that since the house burned...but little by little, I'm getting there.Give the WOE a try, eliminate the sweet potatoes, watch the tomatoes, and see what happens. Don't get discouraged, just keep working it. I wish you the best! Have a happy and most blessed day! Annie

If you are working out you could also be building muscle. Muscle being heavier than fat it could be fluctuating your weight. Keep your head up. YOU CAN DO IT!

also start tracking the actual sugar in the foods your eating by clicking your diet settings to include sugar as one of the 6 tracking tools you lose you would be surprised exactly how much sugar content not actual sugary product is in food choices. It holds you down

I know exactly how you feel! We are about the same weight, but you have loftier goals. I am only trying to get to 135 lbs. I have been working out an hour a day for over a month. It does make you feel sad and crappy some days. I know that I am building muscle but I feel I should weigh less!

As others have mentioned - too much protein, and too little fat. That much protein basically replaces the carbs by turning to glucose. You have had some days where those carbs were too high as well. Also, if you cut calories too severely on a regular basis, you can actually cause your body to go into starvation mode where it will burn less calories to try and "save" itself. A low carb diet is actually low card, MODERATE protein and high fat. If you try it for a week - you may be very surprised to see how well your weight loss takes off. I would try and reduce protein and even carbs. But if a very low carb diet isn't for you - then lower the protein and up the fat a bit and increase the calories up a bit. By the way - I wouldn't give much credit to how many calories most websites and sources "claim" are burned. The amount you actually burn is based pon too many different factors that they cannot account for (Gender, size, muscle % vs fat%, physical fitness, air temperature, stomach contents at the time of exercise, etc etc... Good luck with your efforts regardless of your methods :)

Thanks all for your input and support. I thought I was supposed to up my protein and lower my carbs. I didn't know that fat was supposed to be the highest number (is that right?) I think I'll have to try something else as I can't really stomach the thought of eating butter and oil and frying stuff. Maybe just more complex carbs and less protein. We'll see how that goes.

It's normal to look for short term results with weight loss, but longer term is where success is really measured. From your weight chart, you're still down over 5 lbs from just 8 days ago, that's a big drop in a pretty short period of time. Weight day to day can vary a good bit....if you're accurately recording everything you're eating I would imagine you'll see continued weight loss over the longer term as your calories are not high. Stick with it. :)

It's actually been from about 2 months before Christmas , but was only logging occasionally. I was only down a few pounds from when I started around the beginning of November, but now am back up 3. ( the big changes were from a different scale that I have since returned). I try not to look at short term, but I would have thought that after a few months there should have been more results. Im really hoping that it's just my evil digital scale. I weigh all my food and if anything, record high. I don't subtract anything when my kids or cat want me to share. I'm so upset about it today. Then I feel guilty for being upset about it when there is so much other bad stuff going on in the world.
