Well done - and very kind of you to list the welcome to the newbies. I found this to be a very intuitive site but there were a lot of things it took me months to understand.

doing great deb! interesting targets; i think we are doing a similar thing except for carbs / proteins; do you avoid added sugars also?

Thanks, everyone for your support and comments! Thank you, Bella, I appreciate what you said! Tulipgirl, added sugars are not in my diet since January 2013 when I was diagnosed as diabetic. Last year I read about a woman who lost a ton of weight and she said she keeps her sugars less than 50g a day. I thought I have been doing that, so it's good! I limit my fruits to one apple and 1/2 cup berries daily. When I was in a challenge to eat three fruits a day, I added one prune or a mini box of raisins (the 45 calories box). After I lost 45 lbs and got my blood sugar to normal [5.0], my doctor stopped my diabetic pills. Sorry that I talk about this all the time, but I am so happy about it! I don't know what the future holds for me, but I have made the healthy life commitment to continue to keep my sugars under control, because the minute that I start eating sugar again I would be right back diabetic. I do not want that! Good luck, everyone!
