My body dysmorphia is such that it can be very difficult for me to see the difference in my before and after photos. I rely a great deal on my mama to let me know I'm progressing. I am actually able to wear her Landsend coat (size Large) and it wasn't snug. My highest was 210 lbs, but I didn't start taking "before" pics until 202. I can kind of see it when I step back, but if I look at the pics up close my brain picks it apart and then it doesn't seem like I've lost much at all. I count on the fit of my clothes and how light I feel. The mirror and me just don't get along, LOL. The pic on the right was taken last night. I'm actually wearing the same dress and cardigan in both pics. (approximately 40 lbs down)

You look amazing! And it is about time to buy a new cardigan and dress! Those look like they belong to someone else!🙋🏻‍♀️My sister always got on me for that as I was losing! 😘Allowing myself to be swallowed in my old comfortable clothes. 🤷🏻‍♀️Makes me want to take you shopping and let the beauty shining inside step out in STYLE! LOL 🙆🏻‍♀️ You are doing great! Let me know when you can come to Portland for a shopping trip! LOL

Thank you murphthesmurf. Another friend told me to put my hand over my head and force my eyes to just focus on the body, it does help. @SMP - lol, I promise I don't wear the dress anymore, although I do couple the cardigan with some other tops. I took the big leap and ordered a couple of outerwear tops from LL bean in size large and in COLOR, not black. Perhaps, I'll post a pic of me in one of those when them arrive :-)

Your weight loss most certainly "shows." Big difference!! Congratulations on your terrific progress. You're more than halfway to goal.

I have similar body dysmorphia, only mine just leads me to believe that I look fine at any weight. I can't see the extra weight I'm carrying when I look in a mirror. I only see it show up in photos, and I can't believe that's what I look like, because it looks so different than my reflection.

@DCDesigner - Exactly the same body dysmorphia here! Then when I saw myself in my son's wedding pictures.... oh, my! I think it may be a common problem; I remember having this discussion with a workmate who was the same height and weight as me who was saying, "I can't see how fat I am."

Fantastic. Just keep the old dress around as incentive. Since we all know that the scales hallucinate, clothes are always the best indicator.
