JockoT's Journal, 26 September 2016

Weighed myself this morning and I think I can pretty much confirm that I have lost control. If I don't get back on track TODAY then I can kiss goodbye to 18 months hard work.
I have decided, for the rest of this week at least, to restrict my intake to 1500 calories. I know if I shun Carbs that I can live happily in that.
Wish me luck. I am going to need all the help I can get.

Don't give up Jocko, you know in life we always have these little hiccup's, so please keep trying if I can do it so can you!!!.....Last night there was no drink for me that's my biggest downfall you know, so last night in my infinite wisdom I decided to partake every other night, then next week drink only at weekends (got to let myself down gradually).....Hope I can do it.....I will also stick to my 1400 cals RDI so my Holiday gain will start to come off.....

The tough stuff is minimising the carbs and controlling the protein. If you have to binge do it with fat. Good luck. 

Jocko - you have come SO, SO far. As someone that has to eat around that, all I can suggest (for what it's worth) is (1)plan your meals the next few days, and pre-prep stuff where you can. Planning ahead can really be a lifesaver when you know up front you can't eat much, and helps you budget. (2)Think up front about what foods fill the requirement of being both something you love but also filling. For me - nothing (not even fat) fills me up like protein, then use the veggies for fibre/nutrients/"full factor". I recall you'd said you weren't wild about most veg - but if there's even one you DO love (mine is crunchy, cabbage-based slaws....loaded up with vinegar/dill/seasonings) then make it your ally. (3)Make your own treats rather than buying them (this is how I eat so much cheesecake and brownies, they aren't "standard" versions - I use a lot of substitutions and I can promise you they are still delicious!)...but if that isn't your cup of tea, then perhaps consider temporarily buying single-serve products - go for something that has higher protein/fat (you know this already) vs carby/bready options and always have it with a massive cup of tea or something similar. I'd take a creme brulee over a cookie any day of the week, in essence, because it's that much more satisfying! And finally (you know this too) - (4)no pub this week! That's just a temptation beyond all temptations. :-D Stay strong, man! You've been a great ally to many people here, and you have the power to do this. It is only a week, one day at a time, to undo a bit of overeating!

You can do this. We have all got your back. Honestly, you know if you stop with the doughnuts, white bread and multiple chocolate bars you will be sorted. xx

No please Jocko! It's only a blip, and you will get back on track... I'm certain of that. We all have bad times, but you won't get back to 18 months ago.. that's history now . We need you here, so you've got us here now to support you .

You can do it! Get the newer cat to help you get through the rough spots, since you stayed up nights to help her get through her adjustment period.

Thanks guys, for all the support and kind words. Today has gone well. I consumed EXACTLY 1500 calories, 21% Carbs, 50% Fat and 29% protein. My Net Carbs is showing 71.65 grams and I have drunk 2 Litres of water with 4 hours to go till bedtime (still time for another Litre). I am in the process of planning tomorrow's meals so I can pop to the shops first thing.
