Tomorrow will be the 1st anniversary of my son's passing, Ed the III

A year ago on this date was when I had to say the most languishing words a parent will ever have to mutter. "Take him off life support". I know the decision was the right one, but on this day I will always be tormented. It seems so unnatural for a child to pass before the parent. So if you're reading this, you're a parent and have access to your child, give them an extra special hug, kiss or word of love. You never know what is around the bend in life and you want them to know how much you care.

They deserve it and so do you!

Thank you for sharing this important information about you. My brother lost his son (my nephew) and it is a painful time in our family, too, when his birthday or anniversary of his passing comes around.

I am so sorry for your loss and the painful decision you had to make. I cannot fathom what that must have been like. Thank you for sharing your story and for encouraging us to cherish those we have because we never know when we may never see/talk/hug them again.

Thank you all for all the kind words. Today was tough, but I had my other kids here with me. We talked about Eddie and remembered all the silly stuff we could think of doing together. When Eddie passed he was 32 years old from sun/heat over exposure.

Read this, thoughts and prayers sent your way. Got a card from parents today(haven't talked in about four months). Concerned about my health issues and they care about me. Signed love mom and dad. Calling tomorrow to tell them I love them. Don't take a second for granted. Thanks again.
