Well, on my calendar, for the end of week 14 on this journey, my weeks total loss is 3.8 lbs and seeing I gained on 2 days I think it is pretty darn good. 17 days to my b-day and the hope of Onderland appearing by then are not too shabby. And I am really close right now to hitting my 40 lb loss. Only .4 lbs loss to get there. It has been a good week despite the chaos that the berries added to my already busy schedule. Kids are home safe as I posted details on yesterday's post. So, nice to have them home I missed them more than I think they missed me. I am still dead tired from the drive and I know my husband was too but he figured out a way to improve our business yesterday and spend all the time on the drive and once we got home figuring out alot of details and making a lot of decisions on if to spend a good chunk of change to do this is our best option to do it. He left bed twice to go crunch numbers and wheel and deal with a friend of ours until well after midnight waking me up once to talk about it because he needed a sounding board again and we generally do not talk money and business with the kids about. So it has been extra exhausting with that added excitement for him - lack-o-sleep/stress for me. And here I am up late for me again due in fact to that *excitement*. But we did get a little inspiration on the sceneic drive and stopped this week as it was not as busy and had a bit of site seeing at Quachee Gorge in Vermont. A little view from part way up the mountain. So, Let's all treat today as a divine encounter. Enjoy your Sunday!

Love New England - I grew up outside of Boston.
|
I have certainly fallen in love with NE. First with Boston was there for business well before my kids were born and that was the start. Maine and specifically this house, has been harder but it grows on me every day. Just alot of very charming communities, not all but a lot.

The picture is gorgeous. Really the only part of the US I haven't been to it is the Northeast and I am bound and determined to get there. And you are right the best view is does come after the hardest climb. And it is totally worth it!

There's a lot more of Maine to explore too. The coast is beautiful. Bar Harbor and Acadia is worthy of a few trips to check out. I didn't have much choice where we ended up but I love it here now.

Nic, kinda the same for me. I was not even married to my husband when he drug us up here to live with his father. Gave up everything for a man a second time. It was scary as heel and the house was a hideous mess. With his father's issues we could not do what we are doing until he was out of the house and it has taken some time for adjustment for me too. I have not had the opportunity to go to Bar Harbor or Acadia yet. We have been to Rangeley and a few other places SOuth of here and we have been to Portland and Bangor for the sights and family things but there is alot for me to explore yet about Maine. I and Ohio born and raised so it has been an adjustment. FOr the first year I could not understand anyone with out them repeating or having to think about what I heard. LOL Oh I am hoping it is a windfall for us we could use it with all we put into the house. The convention sales will help also.

My sons grandparents gave us the house which was empty and quickly falling into disrepair to live in after I lost my job and decided to go back to school. After my partner died I don't know what we would have done without their generosity. Not having a mortgage or rent to worry about has made caring for disabled kids a heck of a lot easier on a limited income. If you ever feel up to some day trips let me know, I know a pile of places. Lewiston/ Auburn has the big hot air balloon festival coming up in August not to mention a gazillion fairs towards Portland and west, Cumberland and Fryeburg being the biggest. Freeport is worth a trip for LL Bean and shopping outlets. We truly are the Tourism state lol.

Ah yup...going down Maine is always good.

We may be going to do a few thing WHEN the reno is DONE if there is any summer left and we are ready for the convention. Kids have been to Fryburg fair with their aunt the past few years I think it is when we are in at the convention. Or one fair or another they have gone to. I will look about about the Hot Air balloon festival I bet the kids would love it.

Loved Bar Harbor when I lived out there. New England is beautiful and so much history. I still miss the coast, we moved to the Midwest in 1978. I used to love to go up there in the spring and fall and watch the sun rise over the ocean, the big fall moon rises are beautiful as well. It was my escape from people place and I always went there alone and camped.
