I'm so ready to sleep in tomorrow!! Even though the ball game last night got called early because of lightning we still weren't in bed until about 11, which for most people is still enough sleep getting up at 6, but I'm dragging today. I got rid of coffee this week and have been drinking decaf green tea, so I think that may be part of it, but I shouldn't have the caffeine anyway and it's less sugar since I put a couple of teaspoons in my coffee every morning. Here's hoping I'm more awake next week!

Even though it was a shorter game it was a good one. My son got to pitch a couple of innings and one of the first kids he pitched to hit the ball right at him and he caught it. It was funny because his immediate reaction when he caught it was to throw it to first base, which is what has been drilled into their heads since T-Ball. He struck out a few kids and our team won the game, luckily it had been far enough into the game when they called it they don't have to replay it. After the game my son was pretty happy and was being a goofball, which is part of the reason for the later bedtime. The kids were just being silly and we were all laughing, so I'm not too upset about getting to bed later. I love those types of nights!

This weekend we have a BBQ at my brother's so I'm going to have to bring some fruit and maybe a couple of other things that I can eat. My aunt is bringing a caramel apple cake, which sounds amazing, but I can't have any part of it. I know she'll tell me my diet is just a crock and try to make me feel guilty for not eating any, but I'm sticking to my guns. I'm at the halfway point so I'm not ruining it now. I actually feel good and it will be interesting when I get to the end of elimination and see which foods bother me when I bring them back in. So, at least I know I can't gorge myself on desserts and salads like I normally would. Maybe there will be a loss on Monday. :)

I hope everyone has a great Friday and a great weekend!!

You just tell your aunt that you are on this diet for health reasons, nobody can argue with that. Nothing is more important then for you to finally be pain free, usually something is bothering you. I hope this elimination diet works for you. Have a great weekend as well.

Snezica, you'd think my aunt would understand because she's diabetic, but she's one of those people that if she makes it and you don't eat it she doesn't care the reason, she takes it as a personal thing against her. But, I've grown up with it for almost 34 years and she'll deal with it. I hope the diet works too! So far so good!! :)

Good for you Mars! It's hard when there are non supportive people in your life, but at least you don't see her all the time. Either way, enjoy the bbq!

So very very proud of you for sticking to it! In the end you will feel so much better knowing what foods help and what to avoid.
