jmb3450's Journal, 26 January 2015

Went pizza crazy Friday and then ate out Saturday followed by some beer sampling with my brother, tons of sodium on top of the excess calories. Paying for it with a 4 lb gain, cut calories yesterday but still hanging on to most of the weight. So this week will be 16:8 fasting and some low calorie days to make up for it. Water, water, and more water to flush things out.

So sorry to heat that, but I am a firm believer that on occasion a splurge is necessary. One thing I have to work at is not feeling deprived. If I let myself go outside my controlled box every now and then, it's better on my mental outlook & I don't see it as cheating. I just go in the next day doing what I am supposed to. So my question to you is.....did you enjoy it? If yes, good! :o) Now onward ho!

Hobobeaver - it was food and I always enjoy that! Especially Saturday which was a planned outing at a nice restaurant. Friday was just dumb, got treated to pizza by a co-worker and then my wife wanted pizza for dinner, I was too happy to oblige. If I could just learn true moderation in those times it wouldn't be as bad but for me it's opening Pandora's box and I don't stop, just eat other stuff on top of what I already ate. At least I got it back under control and know what I need to do to make up for it.

That's it Glen, I agree. The 'eat, drink' voice sings too loud too much of the time. What is different since I've started on FatSecret is I don't let those times completely derail me to the point I give up and go back to my old ways. But I do hope to be able to exercise better restraint and moderation in the times it's really needed. I'm a work in progress.

LOL! @ Glen. It is a fact that most of us will have those times that we let go and really enjoy the moment but I think we need to realize we can't go back to the old lifestyle we used to live and eat ... it's what made us sick and/or obese. I am including myself in this statement. We are all a work in progress Jmb. You keep on keeping on! :)

Good news: light eating, watching sodium intake, and drinking lots of water has 3 lbs of bloat gone this morning, doing the same today so the damage control plan is working.
