Day 3 of 3 days of planned eating

I am sooo ready to start my fast on Monday. Eating is just too stressful! Yesterday I put all my planned food in and started the day off.

Then I had to go meet a friend at a coffee shop and as I was leaving there were these small "nut balls". I was thinking that eating one before my run would be a nice low carb treat. Turns out it was a nut 'paste' that was 17 carbs. I should have thrown it away (@jimmiepop would have said 'flush it down the toilet!'). But I ate it :( This lead to Ritz crackers, this lead to... My problem is I get on a "carb train". I have some carbs, then 1/2 an hour later I want more, and so on and so on.

Arggg No wonder after 8 years on this site, fasting is the only way I was able to get below 200

A huge shout out to @Becc@ for getting me to look at what I was doing (this is in the middle of my 'spinning out') and this gave me the motivation to stop it, by finally going on my planned 7 mile run. For those that have exercise as an option, a 1 hour walk or run WILL kill your appetite. At the end of my run I have to walk by the Kentucky Fried Chicken down the street. The doors were open and the smell was spilling out. The thought of eating at that moment turned my stomach.

Anyway, I was able to minimize the 'damage'. Last weekend I did 155 carbs, yesterday I only did 84 carbs :)

Today is the day of one of my wife's big "Dinner Parties". To get an idea of how big of a deal this is to her, I included a picture of the table that was set 4 days ago! There will be multiple courses of food. Yes, I COULD stay away from the Hawaiian Bread roles and the twice cooked potatoes but who are we kidding??

The fast re-starts tomorrow...

Have you tried "disposal therapy"? Nothing like running a half dozen boxes of donuts, cereal, and pasta down your disposal to establish whom is whose b^tch. Fun too! Strongly recommend!

@jimmiepop - Rest assured you are in my head whenever I am faced with these decisions. This time you didn't win but many times you do! I would get the Ritz crackers out of the house but they are for the dinner party. Disposing of anything that belongs to the wife is not an option :)

Setting the table four days early? Doesn't that mean you have to DUST before dinner guests arrive?! LOL!

@Miraculum - Yes it does! She also has many of the Christmas gifts for the family bought and wrapped at this point. You did notice the placards, right?? :)

I love the table setting and don't think I didn't notice all those serving dishes. Maybe if you just used the smaller plate all the way through, but somehow I don't think you'll get away with that. SHE has it planned and you might as well bow down and fix it tomorrow.

@Sally Forest - I showed her what you wrote and she laughed and agreed :)

Hang with it - I have been on the carb train a few times myself but once I get off, the destination comes more quickly!

Eating is very stressful when you having to worry about: what, how much, how it will effect you, and what could be if you don’t... I feel for you! And I totally understand why you take the approach of now dealing with it all week lol and Goog job on lowering your carbs to 85 yesterday! That’s not bad at all!

@Jimmiepop I'd love to run my hubby's junk food stash down the garbage disposal but he'd probably retaliate by buying more. Luckily most of his bad choices are 180° different from mine. For instance, the only time I touch the vanilla ice cream in the freezer is to get to my frozen Brussels sprouts. I am so grateful that he doesn't stock butter pecan. can you say, " Carb roller coaster trigger?"

@Miraculum I hate housework, I consider dust on my tables, seasoning. Ha!

I get the "train" aspect. I bounce from salty to sweet to salty... Can't start.

** Update ** The dinner starts in 2 hours and right now I am 'sick'. I ate a lot of ground beef, cheese, and eggs and then went for a 7 mile run. Bad idea. The good news is that right now I can't eat a thing. Let's see what happens...

Adef- I almost didn't post that suggestion, now I am glad I did. I think you'll be fine at the dinner celebration and be respectful of your wife's accomplishment therefore skipping the carb frenzy in front of your guests. Just teasing you. Your wife's table is gorgeous! Yes, dishes can be gorgeous, I have several sets in the garage because they don't fit in my kitchen. Your wife's set is particularly beautiful and sentimental to me, it was my MIL's favorite. Again congratulations to your beautiful wife and I wish you an enjoyable dinner party. Tomorrow is a new day. :)
