So, I've been avoiding pasta since I've been losing weight. No big deal, really. I am not shunning carbs altogether, but pasta has so many calories, I hate to waste them. However, yesterday I had to work late, so I cooked spaghetti for supper since it's quick. I didn't have any spaghetti squash, so I just went ahead and portioned out a very small serving of pasta for myself. I had also eaten a small serving of pasta at lunch, so I was expecting the scale to be up (water retention). To my surprise, the scale was down about half a pound! That was also before having a poo. Well, not to be TMI, but after being at work for about an hour, I finally went to the bathroom and managed to get rid of about 2 days worth of poo. I'm having to rethink my stance on pasta. It's not like I'd eat it every night and I certainly can't overindulge, but maybe a serving or two a week isn't going to hamper my weight loss efforts. If anything, it seemed to help it this time. At the very least, it helped to get things moving out of my gut!

I prefer Angel hair, but my hubby likes "fat" noodles, lol. Gotta keep him happy!

This is a known phenomenon. When plateaued, especially during an extended lo carb cut, a SMALL intake of simple carbs can encourage the body to release water. Best deployed on an as needed basis IMHO.

1.5 oz dry wt of spaghetti is portion for me coupled with 1/3 cup of my homemade sauce. Very satisfying and move on. I love spaghetti.

I love pasta - seriously it is a life long favorite. When I got diagnosed with my little gift (thanks pancreas) I had to rethink everything. I was terrified to add pasta back into the diet because it is a carb-load for a little serving. Today - I plan meals so if I want to have pasta I just craft the rest of the meal to accommodate it. Portion size, calories and carbs all have to make sense. I don't eat it very often; but I am also not terrified to have it. You are doing awesome - so I wish you continued success on your journey.

LSG417.. is it like high fibre/ bowel clearout.. just googled it as I’ve never heard of it before?

Yerba Prima is psyllium husk fiber, which, counter intuitively, can serve as a laxative or diarrhea treatment. Perfect for keto and fasting.

Well, it's an herbal cleanse, from what I can tell. I would assume it's high fiber.

Thanks Tahoe! Kenna, I make my own sauce too. So much healthier. I weigh my food on a digital scale now to make sure I'm not overeating. Some of the portion sizes are a lot smaller than what we think! A cup of rice is a lot, a cup of pasta, not so much! I have learned to go more by weight in grams or ounces tho, rather than cup or half cup, etc.

For me, complex carbs take two days to hit. However, I NEVER have a 'small amount' so don't go by me :)
