I think I'm going to go back to Phase I for a week or two and get myself jump started. Has anyone been successful going back and forth between Phase I and Phase II eating? I know you shouldn't stay in Phase I for too long...

Before "jumping back to phase 1" I would recommend re-evaluating your phase 2.... look at quantities, look at fats, look at how many foods you've added since phase 1.... and more importantly,... journal! Even if alls you do is jot it down here in your journal, you'll be able to "see" what you're eating and it'll be easier to see what might be flubbin up your plan of attack. :) I would suggest a "strict" phase 2, where you are only eating a few good carbs for a week and see if you lose 1-2 lbs, if you continue to lose, then they work with your body and you can add some others slowly and see if they work too! :) You can DO IT!

Almost everyone jumps in and out of Phase 1 and Phase 2 at the beginning. Just do what feels right and you will be fine and in accordance with the way the diet was designed (no rigid rules for moving among phases). I read in the original book that some go up to one month on Phase 1, implying a cutoff of sorts. I have later seen people post about shorter times recommended for Phase 1. These are estimates and it depends on the individual of course. Good luck Geostar!

I agree with bulltrouble except... it depends...have you been following phase 2 completely but still gaining? how long have you been trying phase 2? Have you been re-introducing the new foods slowly? to see how it affects you and your weight? are you sticking to phase 2 reasonably well? take a look at my food journal and see how it compares to what you are doing? Im on phase 2 100%. You can go back to phase 1 if you need to. Its up to you, we just want you to be healthy girl! Whatever works for ya! phase 1 is great because of the fast weight loss and you can go back to it to get back on track again, like after a cruise or vacation, etc. Its not a phase you should stay on for more than 3 weeks or go back to real often. the book says when you "go back" to go on it for ONE week only.
