LSG417's Journal, 19 April 2018

Well, sometimes God answers your prayers in an unexpected way. We met with the principal of the alternative school that my oldest son will be attending. Most folks associate the school as being for "bad kids". The truth is tho, while they do have some with behavioral issues, it's more a school to help with credit recovery, so kids can graduate. I am actually excited for my son to go there, after seeing what is offered and seeing how things are structured to benefit the needs of each student. Small communities may not have the best of everything, but from the standpoint of education and teachers that truly care, I think we have the advantage. If my son remains at this school for the rest of his HS career, he can earn both HS & college credits in an automotive class and even potentially graduate HS as a certified auto mechanic. This school may be the answer we've been searching for all along, in helping my son succeed. I want to thank each of you for your thoughts and prayers.

Great to hear. If it’s something he enjoys doing I’m sure he’ll excel in it. Wishing him the best of luck at the new school

This is wonderful! I wish we’d had something similar. Instead my son dropped out when he got concussion syndrome and ended up with his GED 3 years later. Scored so high they made sure he didn’t cheat, LOL but it didn’t help him get any scholarships or continuing schooling. So now he’s sitting on his butt totally frustrated, not knowing what to do. 🤷🏻‍♀️And won’t let me help. 💁🏻‍♀️
