Sandy701's Journal, 30 June 2012

3.1 miles walked the last 2 days plus today. Did a bit of lap swimming the last 2 days, as well, but haven't gone in yet today. With the high temps lately, the pool is nicely warm and MOST appreciated!!!

My last pound is still hanging on and I don't think my overall worry is helping any. Trying to work on that stress level, so I did some retail therapy yesterday to put my mind on other things! It was successful. Great bargains were to be had, many with coupons, plus I got to shop at Publix which gave me the opportunity to buy some unusual items, like grape seed vegenaise and some yogurt-based salad dressings.

For those who have dogs, I'm sure you'll appreciate my predicament when I got my shoe pee'd on by my male dog on the walk yesterday! No, he didn't really mean to pee on ME, it was just my foot was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Luckily, he was just marking, so the amount wasn't a lot, but my shoe needed some work when I got home! What happened was I was in the process of picking up from my female dog and my male decided to mark the area as well. I usually can keep him away while I do the pick-up, but this time, he got too close and well....I didn't get my foot out of the way fast enough. Ah, the joys of doggies.....

I think your Retail Therapy was a good choice. I love going to a store that carries specialty foods! And it helps when they are good for you too! Thanks for sharing your doggie story. BTW - Relax - you've got the rest of your life to lose that last pound.

Buffy, that's a great perspective! I'm already getting used to the idea that I may need to postpone the 5-7 pounds beyond goal so I can settle into Maintenance more quickly to bring blood values into line. Don't know if that's the route I will take, but I'm thinking it would be a very real and reasonable option. Hey......get to that grocery store!!!

I've had my shower and made my list - now it is time to face the music.

You can do it, Buffy. Just keep thinking of that Gloria Gaynor song, "I Will Survive."

Your pooch didn;t MEAN to potty on your foot. He's such a good boy! Thanks - again - for your helpful point on my journal about the importance of sifting through the content I read on Fat Secret. I am fine with the links that members post -- especially when these are from reliable sources. However - I have been reading the forums quite a bit. The content is SO INTERESTING & members sound convincing. But they disagree. I just have to WEIGH everything out -- no pun intended. I am a Libra. My sign is the blind lady of JUSTICE who holds the scales so I am decisively indecisive! Now. Let's talk about Maintenance. I would love to have that converstaion but I am so so far away from that point so all I have are well wishes! Much Fat Secret Love!

LOL, I can totally relate to your doggy mishap, I have a little guy of my own. I'm sure all the worry and stress is contributing to that last pesky pound hanging on for dear life, but I have no doubt at all that it'll soon disappear and then it'll be time for the biggest, most amazing happy dance yet!! Hope you're having a good weekend!
