April 6, 2012, was my last journal entry. A lot has happen in my life since that time. My husband was forced into retirement unexpectedly, so my routine and budget has been turned upside down. It has been a challenge to keep his spirits up as well as mine. Some days, I just want to scream but I take a deep breathe and try to look at the positive. Some days I have taken refuge in food, which of course only made me feel worse. There were several weeks of bad choices, which have resulted in a weight gain of 7 pounds. However, a week ago I felt my determination returning and started back on my low carb plan and I was just starting to see results when I was provided some unsettling news about my granddaughter. Thus, another binge eating this weekend, which was one of the worse, I have had in a really, really long time. Today, I have decided that in order to help my granddaughter, I have to be the strong person and I have to take care of myself in order to watch out for her health. I have to pull it together and be the positive influence in my family’s life!!
