Was at a conference all day yesterday, but stayed on plan. Got up early so I had time to eat a satisfying breakfast. Knew this would help with the choices I would face as the day went on. And it did help. Lunch was about 3 oz. of chicken breast, with some noodles, and grilled zucchini, and a slice of grilled sweet potato, some berries, and a cookie. I ate the chicken, the zucchini and about 2/3 of he berries. Brought the cookie home for my daughter! She has no trouble with carbs...just like her dad.

Skipped the snack mid-afternoon, and had a cup of decaf, and a great conversation with another attendee. After the conference was over their was a cocktail party. Went for cheese, veggies, and yummy shrimp. All was good till I was driving home, and I was starving!! I had eaten about 800 to 1000 calories less than normal, and I was feeling it. Decided to stop at the grocery store on the way home and pick up a roasted chicken. Plan was good, until I got to the grocery store. Honey roasted chicken was the only choice. :( Picked up some bacon for today, and headed for home. Salami and cheese and some nuts ended up rounding out the calories.

It was not a good day in terms of veggie consumption. But otherwise I felt pretty good about the overall outcome. I focused on networking with other attendees, and keeping sight on my long term goals. I don't know that it will always go so well. I think being in a very positive environment...interesting people, enough healthy choices,...made it easier. I think being in a more stressful, or boring situation might make the food more alluring. It will be good to observe how a setting effects my choices when I am away from home and my more comfortable routine.

Keep up the good work - you are thinking about what you eat, which is key. When I am hungry and at the store, I "race" to get what I need so I won't dawdle and pick up extra unhealthy stuff.
