Earthlady's Journal, 21 June 2012

Yesterday was a full-on day of eating :( It was kind of a conscious decision to go with it but it just makes me feel glad today that generally I eat much less these days.

It started with breakfast - as we're wrapping up for summer at school and people are leaving we decided to have a breakfast in our department all together. Turkish breakfast means bread, (oily) cheese pastries, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, cake etc. I couldn't imagine not having my usual breakfast of muesli fruit and yogurt so I just had a half portion at home and a small plate of food at school but I was already up near 800 calories by 11 am! Having done that, I treated myself to the ice cream I'd been craving for days. Then I got home and had a muffin with coffee! Dinner was lentil soup, mini meatballs, rice, salad and green beans. I also had a couple of beers and some nuts last night.

The above list now seems like a huge amount of food to me, but that would have been an average day's intake last year. No wonder I've lost weight!

Today I've had my regular breakfast and I have a sandwich ready for lunch with a few cherries on the side.

I've had a long walk along the beach the last two evenings but the sea is so icy cold I couldn't get in past my knees! It's been very windy for about a week and that's cooled the sea immensely; it was lovely last week :(

Once again, Earthlady, you've put into words so much of what I have felt...don't you just love food confessions? lol You're so right, though...I eat less than I used to...but even more, I think, is WHAT I'm no longer eating...at least, almost never. And I find that I feel so much better, too. Now, part of that may be loss of the guilt factor, know what I mean? But I love feeling healthier and more fit. It spurs me on!.........now for those pesky batwings, UGH! :)
