minitata's Journal, 25 October 2017

I'm 40 hours into a fast - 1 day really as I finish eating at 4pm - it soon adds up. I'll push back today's eating as far as I can. Once I start eating I just keep on, which is why fasting is so good for me.

Well done! You're probably similar to me then, I haven't eaten since 5pm on Monday .. I'm gonna go until at least dinner tonight, not particularly hungry, but it comes in waves sometimes Good luck We'll do it together !😁

Not a good idea.

I got 2 fresh cream meringues this morning with the Sainsbury's delivery (they were a free offer and I hate to turn them down). I know that Tony won't eat them as they are too sweet. Shirley may or may not like them - so I gave one to the carer who came to get Shirley up this morning and will see about the other one. When I ordered it we should have been having the gardener coming, but she's doing a Tree Surgeon first aid course

The way the body reacts to starvation. Fasting won't change habits. Eating habits must be changed to maintain long term weight loss. You appear to loose weight quickly through fasting and it makes the figures look good on the scales but this will ( in my opinion and others documented experience ) be a short term fix. Fasting often results in binging afterwards to compensate. However If it makes you happy and feel better about weight loss then carry on fasting. All opinion and personal experience. This apps great at helping people monitor a balanced diet. A good average BALANCED diet.

If I hadn't lost a lot of weight and reversed my diabetes type 2, I'd probably agree with you @Jasonschofielf1. If I could just give up the pesky carbs for good - I eat fruit and veg sometimes - I'd be fine. I need to fully balance my protein - essential amino acids - fat - essential fatty acids - and not add carbs I'd have no problems. Remembering that all carbs except for fruit turn into glucose (sugar) inside and fruit turns to fat (fructose can only be digested by the liver, and if you've had any carbs then the body doesn't need it and just turns it to fat)

@jasonschofield1.. I have lost nearly 40 lbs, 17.5 inches off my waist and got my blood sugars back to normal, like mini has. So, for me, I have to disagree.. it is a good idea
